**It is not necessary to memorize hundreds of muscles and bones to experience the benefits of applying anatomy to yoga. What is necessary is the functional understanding of key anatomic structures in their settings as they relate to Hatha Yoga. Knowledge of these structures can be applied immediately to optimize your practice, break through blockages and prevent injuries in your own body as well as in your students. The more we know about the body, the more we can work with our body in a healthy way and pass this knowledge on to others. **

 This course is appropriate for new and experienced Yoga instructors. We will review all the major systems in the body including the bones and muscles of the skeletal system and spine. Discussion of the types of joints in the body, major planes of movement and muscle actions will be applied to essential yoga poses in order to understand alignment that could put the body at risk. The anatomy and physiology of breath will be reviewed as it applies to a pranayama practice.

Workshop = $75.00. Click here to register and go to our workshops page.

Coursework will be supplemented by hands-on lab work as well as a written manual for every participant. {Happy Buddha instructors and graduates will receive a discounted price for this workshop}
