Yang is the counterpart to Yin. One cannot exist harmoniously without the other to balance it out. Some characteristics of Yang are active, fire, strength, masculine, energetic, courageous and excitement. A few attributes of Yin include passive, cold, softness, feminine, docile, consuming and slowness.
Staci and Nikki are a dynamic duo that will first educate you about the benefits of each practice and why it’s important to incorporate it into everyday life. Following the educational presentation of this workshop, Staci and Nikki will lead you in two seperate practices; Yin and Yang.
During the Yang portion of this workshop, Staci will guide you through a heating dynamic vinyasa flow that will tone your body, increase endurance, and improve energy levels. You will get in touch with the masculine side of yourself focusing on your breath and improving your circulation while spreading prana (energy) throughout your body.
To balance out the Yang, the second half of this workshop Nikki will lead you through a Yin practice to bring you inward and focus on the breath and mind while keeping the body in asanas (poses) for extended periods of time. As one begins to settle into the stress of the connective tissues in the body, the mind and ego will be challenged; hence the balancing aspects of this practice. Upon completion, Staci and Nikki will then recap the health benefits of why it’s important to incorporate both Yin and Yang aspects in everyday life and answer any questions pertaining to your experience.
Please bring a notebook and a writing utensil to write down any information you want to remember and to reflect on how each practice felt in your body.
