Lunar Energy for Summer Serenity; harnessing the full moon magic to heal

Lunar energy.jpg

During this Workshop we will focus on bathing in the healing light of the full moon in order to illuminate our bodies, minds & spirits. We will embrace this soft, radiant & cooling light to balance the intense, fiery and sometimes draining solar force of Summer. The full moon heightens the intensity of our emotions and offers us with a chance to look at things in a new light. We get the opportunity to recognize that what has been overlooked or buried deep and surrender ourselves to that which we have been hiding from- inviting in the feminine power of creation to encourage new, positive & successful intentions.

Expect a slow, soft & sweet flow filled with practices to calm the build up of mental, physical & emotional heat. I invite you to bring a journal for our writing practice & any thoughts, emotions or ideas that may come up. With Love, Riley xoxox

The Banded Basics with GIULIA PLINE

Guilia Pline.jpg

Join Giulia Pline from Threes Physiyoga.  Learn the basics of controlled mobility. How to control your end range, create stability in all poses and movements, and develop tension within your body using your own deep stability system.  There will be isolated core work, exploration and execution of “basic” yoga postures that are practiced in almost every vinyasa or hatha style yoga class (ex. tadasana, down dog, plank), and emphasis on stacking the body/bones for optimal function and efficiency in movement and breathing.

Using the resistance bands as props for our poses, we will shed awareness and light to the areas in which we are underworking or disconnected to using the reference point of the bands for our own tensegrity.

Workshop = $45. To register, click here

About Giulia Pline, YOGA TEACHER E-RYT 500: After years of dance, yoga, and both stress & trauma related physical injuries, Giulia realized that her own practice and teaching needed something more functional and contemporary than the traditional way she was practicing asana & vinyasa. This brought her to Threes Physiyoga, a method that merges physical therapy practices with yoga. This meshing of both eastern and western methods of moving, breathing, and healing helped her to discover not only her imbalances and strengths, but brought to light the way in which she sees and understand the body’s mechanics and the movement of her students. Yoga, like any other sport, has the ability to create stress related injuries because of the repetition of the movement and alignment in the practice. The body’s tissues do well with change and variation, an important concept to consider when developing any kind of movement practice.

As a Physiyoga teacher, Giulia's group classes and workshops combine corrective exercises and knowledge from the physical therapy world with and around asana, to not only challenge the ways in which we move, but to shed light on how we can create more efficiency and clarity in our individual mechanics, as well as heal and prevent some future injuries and pains.

Yin and Yang With Nikki and Staci

Yang is the counterpart to Yin.  One cannot exist harmoniously without the other to balance it out.  Some characteristics of Yang are active, fire, strength, masculine, energetic, courageous and excitement. A few attributes of Yin include passive, cold, softness, feminine, docile, consuming and slowness.

Yin and Yang.jpg

Staci and Nikki are a dynamic duo that will first educate you about the benefits of each practice and why it’s important to incorporate it into everyday life. Following the educational presentation of this workshop, Staci and Nikki will lead you in two seperate practices; Yin and Yang.

During the Yang portion of this workshop, Staci will guide you through a heating dynamic vinyasa flow that will tone your body, increase endurance, and improve energy levels.  You will get in touch with the masculine side of yourself focusing on your breath and improving your circulation while spreading prana (energy) throughout your body.

To balance out the Yang, the second half of this workshop Nikki will lead you through a Yin practice to bring you inward and focus on the breath and mind while keeping the body in asanas (poses) for extended periods of time.  As one begins to settle into the stress of the connective tissues in the body, the mind and ego will be challenged; hence the balancing aspects of this practice. Upon completion, Staci and Nikki will then recap the health benefits of why it’s important to incorporate both Yin and Yang aspects in everyday life and answer any questions pertaining to your experience.

Please bring a notebook and a writing utensil to write down any information you want to remember and to reflect on how each practice felt in your body.

A unique, guided meditation using ceremonial grade chocolate as a facilitator to release negative energy and emotional blocks, allowing us to open our hearts to deeper love, gratitude and grace. We will strive to  reconnect with our inner wisdom and find a greater sense of clarity and purpose. Cacao has been used for centuries as a “plant medicine” due to its  heart opening qualities and wide-ranging health benefits. When grown
consciously, it carries a vibrational quality that opens us up to a higher
level of healing. The cacao we will be sharing is from wild and native  cacao beans grown and prepared by indigenous hands in the  jungles of Guatemala and Peru.

PROPS PLEASE with Nikki

props please.jpg

This workshop is focused on the benefits of using props whether you’re just starting out or for practitioners who have been showing up to the mat for years. Most of the time props are thought to be inferior, overlooked completely or used mainly for restorative practices; however, that is not true. Props give the practitioner the ability to get into poses safely and assist in tactical feedback of body information and bringing the ground to you for a more stable rooted foundation. Come explore the many uses of props in common poses and don’t be afraid or intimidated to use them from now on after you realize the benefits of adding them to your practice.

Food as Medicine with Rebecca Quackenbush

Food as medicine.jpg

“Let food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food” -Hippocrates

We are spiritual beings living in a material world, and food is our fuel.
There is an industry built around people not being well, yet we have more control over our health than we may realize. And what we eat has a profound effect on how we feel.
In this interactive workshop we will explore the growing concept of “Food as Medicine.” Take comfort in knowing that there is no one size fits all model of nutrition, and so we will get right at the heart of all diets-the food! I assure you that you will never see that stalk of broccoli the same again! By reframing how we look at the items on our plate, we open ourselves up to a world of possibilities that reach far beyond deliciousness and into health, healing, and longevity.

Come explore with me! Plenty of time will be set aside for personal reflection and goal setting.  Please bring along a journal and something to write with.

In addition, you will walk away with a tool box bursting with ingredients for your own personal prescription for wellness.

Workshop = $35. To register, click HERE and go to our workshops page.

Rebecca is a Certified Holistic Health Coach through the Institute of Integrative Nutrition. As an advocate for and living proof of Food as Medicine, she aims to educate and empower others to heal and feel their best.

Fundraiser for American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP) with Charleen

Suicide Prevention.jpg

Join me as we raise awareness to help stop suicide.  My high school girlfriend lost her mom to suicide.  This June 16th will be her 11th time walking in the “Out of the Darkness Overnight Walk”. This year it’s being held in Philadelphia, PA.  She will walk 18 miles overnight from sundown to sunrise to bring awareness to suicide prevention, bring the stigma of depression out of the darkness, and raise money for American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP).
“I want to someday think about my mom's life without dwelling on the circumstances of her death. I want to speak about suicide honestly and transparently, without any sense of stigma or guilt attached.  I want to find my own peace, help others find theirs and stop people from dying by suicide.”

Suicide kills more Americans than car accidents.  Suicide kills more veterans than soldiers are killed in combat.  Suicide is the 2nd leading cause of death among college students and persons aged 15-24 years, and the 3rd for youth ages 10-14. Please help me put an end to these scary statistics!

The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention Mission
Save Lives and Bring Hope to Those Affected by Suicide
To fully achieve its mission, AFSP engages in the following Five Core Strategies:
•    Fund scientific research
•    Offer educational programs for professionals
•    Educate the public about mood disorders and suicide prevention
•    Promote policies and legislation that impact suicide and prevention
•    Provide programs and resources for survivors of suicide loss and people at risk, and involve them in the work of the Foundation. National Suicide Prevention Lifeline Phone Number   1-800-273-8255

This class is by donation only, all proceeds go to SFSP.  To register, click  HERE.

Meditation, Mantras, and Malas With Tricia Zoldak

Tricia Capture.JPG

Join Tricia Zoldak for a fun workshop where you’ll learn how to make and use your very own mala to serve as a talisman for prayer and meditation, and to wear as a reminder of an intention you will set during the workshop. You will learn a little bit of the history of Malas, the importance of meditation and mantras, and you will have a chance to find the perfect mantra for yourself. You will leave with a beautiful Mala you have created yourself set with your own personal intention, along with knowledge of how to use it.

A Mala is a garland of 108 beads plus one bead as the Guru bead. Malas are traditionally used for keeping count while reciting, chanting, or mentally repeating a mantra. Wearing a Mala can serve as a daily reminder of what you are trying to manifest in your life at that particular time. Workshop = $70. Click here to register and go to our workshops page.

Tricia began the regular practice of yoga in 2014 and received her 200 hour yoga teacher certification in May of 2015 from the Body Art Barn in Blooming Grove, NY. She then went on to receive her 500 hour certification in 2016 from the Body Art Barn and is currently enrolled in another 500 hour certification at Happy Buddha in Goshen. Yoga, meditation, and chanting has become an integral part of life for Tricia and has helped in dealing with the common yet difficult stresses and obstacles of life. Her goal is to bring yoga and meditation in an easy and accessible way so that even a complete beginner can utilize these practices in their life.

WHAT IS REIKI?
Reiki (pronounced “Ray-kee”) is a simple and powerful hands-on healing technique that creates balance and harmony within mind, body, and spirit. The word “Reiki” comes from two Japanese characters or kanji. The top character “Rei” means “universal soul or spirit” and “ki” means “energy.” Together the two words represent “universal life-force energy.”

As a healing method, Reiki uses an energy transmittal system in which the Reiki practitioner draws energy from the universe and then transfers this energy through the hands to the self or another. Physical, mental, emotional and spiritual blocks are dissolved with Reiki, bringing people greater health and overall wellbeing. Reiki works with the body's innate wisdom to facilitate healing where and how it is needed.

Dare to Live an Extraordinary Life with Char O'Connor: A Women's Health Series

char with type over photo.jpg

Let's talk about breast health! Our breasts are intimately connected to a woman's overall well being. In this workshop, we will examine how our breasts affect our health, as well as our body, mind and spirit.  Breasts serve a purpose in every phase of a women's life, from menses through menopause and are intimately connected to all of our  physical passages in profound ways. One in eight American women will receive a breast cancer diagnosis in their lifetime, yet very little is taught regarding prophylactic care. The encouraging news is, according to recent medical research, yoga is believed to be a powerful tool for obtaining breast health. When we expand the heart center and engage in twists through yoga, we are unclogging lymphatic pathways which increases circulation that supports the  lymphatic system and facilitates optimal immune function.

Join Char O'Connor for an evening of yoga for breast health. We will begin with a short discussion on making healthy lifestyle choices relating to breast health. We will then move into a beautiful yoga class centered around breast health. We will explore  specific yoga poses that are geared to promote the optimal function of the lymphatic system and overall well being. This workshop is appropriate for all levels and ages.

Char O'Connor is a yoga instructor, life coach, RN and a stage 3 breast cancer survivor and has devoted her life to helping people. Trained in body, mind, spirit coaching, Char provides and all encompassing personal experience through her yoga practice and open and interactive discussion that are relevant to issues facing women today.
